North Carolina Transplant Athletes, also known as Team NC, is a 501(c)(3) organization run by a Board of Directors that includes Annie Clark (liver recipient, 2021), Phelicia Price (kidney recipient, 2016), Yvette Matthews (liver recipient, 2012), Bill Dupere (heart recipient, 2015), John Laisure (kidney recipient, 2012), and Laura Smith (double lung recipient, 2014). Laura also manages the team from her home in Durham, which she shares with her very best “foster fail” cat, Mr. Kitty.
